Maxine & Mike Mckee
Maxine Mckee:
About 10 years ago I heard about Brad and his gym from our daughter, Marnie, and wanted to try it. Brad was doing a boot camp and decided that would be perfect to try. Of course after that I had to do it. I was hooked. Everyone was so nice, kind and encouraging. My favorite exercise is everything I can’t do. I could say I love wall balls, but that would be a lie. I am looking forward to getting back in shape even doing wall balls. Before I retired I was a secretary in an elementary school and also an office manager for my husband, Mike. Above all I love my family and doing family things together. I also like to make quilts, crochet, sewing, family history and a little yard work. The reason I like to train is because I see a lot of people my age and younger who need help in every day life. I want to make the most out of my life and not miss out in anything. My advice to people is don’t let your age define you. You might not be able to do like the youngsters, but Brad always has a plan so you can accomplish your goals. It’s all worth it. Don’t let yourself down. If I can do it, anyone can.
Mike Mckee:
In the beginning Maxine was getting up every morning, five days a week, to go to the gym. This was about 12 years ago. I resisted going with her for over two years but finally relented and decided to check out XFIT. Besides, I didn't want her to be known as the strongest member of our family like our daughter Marnie is known for in hers. Its pretty sad when your child is asked who is the strongest member of your family and his reply is my mom. After all these years I still can't plank as long as Maxine.
I have some physical limitations and Brad was able to put together workouts that worked around my disabilities. He gives me a 3X5 card with exercises for the day. I collected those cards for years and one day gave them back to Brad so he could use the back side. There were hundreds of them. I really don't have a favorite exercise but, in my case its like Brad has a sense for what I'm able to do that day and puts it on the card.
Before I retired, almost 2 years ago, I traveled a lot doing technical sales. My territory was the rocky mountain states. Early in my career I drove about 60,000 miles a year and didn't have much time to exercise. My weight soared to 252 and I got diabetes. I still have diabetes that's under control and I weigh just over 190. I attribute the weight loss to XFIT and proper nutrition that Brad encourages. Now I fish every chance I get and take my grandkids with me as often as I can. There is an old adage that I'm testing, that every day that you fish adds another day to your life. XFIT enables me to have the conditioning necessary for me to feel comfortable to fish alone. I hope to be able to fish another 10 years. I'm 76 so I'll probably be worn out by then. I'm confident that if I keep going to XFIT I'll achieve that goal.
